Beth’s mom made this every Christmas and I’ve missed it so much since being in Texas! I finally remembered to get the recipe from her this year and YUM! Just as good as I remember 🙂
Barb’s Whiskey Cake
- 1 box yellow cake mix (gluten free if you’d like me to share it!)
- 1 small box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 oz whiskey (use something that’s pretty good since you’ll put a lot more in the glaze! I used Weller this year.)
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Combine all and beat well. Pour into 10″ greased tube pan. Bake at 325 for 55-60 minutes.
Let cool for 15-30 minutes and poke a bunch of holes in it so that it can absorb the glaze!
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup whiskey
Heat until all is melted and clear. Pour SLOWLY over cake. Let the cake rest for 2 hours to absorb the glaze before removing from the pan.
A few hours before serving pour some more whiskey on top.. mmm….
