i love the library! i stopped updating my ‘hold’ list in april so i’ve been reading random stuff (mostly trash) since may. i finally remembered to add my maximum 5 ‘holds’ on monday and picked up 4 new books last night-

• The Lucifer effect : understanding how good people turn evil
• Mergers & Acquisitions

i also checked out Season 4 of Home Movies since i missed a few of that last season.

i am going to be super entertained this weekend!

well, darn it. i just committed to a saturday night birthday thing and then i find out that junior brown is playing at antone’s. somehow i have still never seen him live. and i guess i won’t this month either. sigh.

i let the rock out and back in and sat down at the kitchen table. i heard a horrible loud buzzing noise. then i saw this thing flying around behind my semi-open blinds. eek!

i ran for the bug spray and blasted it FOUR times before it died. and then i was still scared to pick it up. i mean check out how HUGE it was.

it had really weird long legs and it’s body looked different from a regular wasp and i think i figured out that it’s a spider wasp. i didn’t know that any wasps were solitary. i hope i don’t see any more. scary!

yesterday i was complaining to angela about how i’d messed with this blog’s php over a year ago and screwed up the linking so that it was impossible to go back and view old posts. and then i decided maybe i should do something about it! so i upgraded to the new wordpress and after a few hours of trying to figure out how to fix all the new problems that caused, everything is working!

i lost my old theme when i upgraded so i’m back to the basics. i’m liking it for now though

it looks like another thunderstorm is headed this way. a few months ago i was saying that i hoped i wasn’t going to have to walk back across campus and one of the women in the meeting said, ‘don’t worry. you won’t melt. you’re not that sweet!’ to me. it was particularly funny because she’s usually a pretty quiet person.

last night i went to dinner at jackie and david’s and she’d bought dripping springs vodka. she also had an almost empty bottle of tito’s on the counter and i noticed that the labels for tito’s and dripping springs look almost the same! dripping springs copied the font, the placement, and used almost the same text. the tito’s label is still prettier though.

happy birthday, mike! i ordered your present from amazon on the 12th, but for some reason it hasn’t shipped yet. i guess you can think of it like your birthday is stretching out for a few weeks? amazon says it will be there by the 2nd at the latest

i totally need one of these keurig coffee makers! jenn and i went to sherwin williams yesterday and they had one in the store. she made a cup of german chocolate cake coffee that was sooo good. plus the little k-cup things are so cute!

my tivo recorded the new adventures of old christine for me this week or last. i watched it on monday night and i laughed until i almost cried. i don’t know if just this episode is this funny or what, but i would recommend checking out ‘playdate with destiny’. it’s online right now so you can watch the whole episode if you go to the link above and then click on ‘video’ and then ‘full episodes’.

so i meant to get up at 7:15 and leave the house at 8am so that i could drop my car off at the honda dealership at 8:30 and be at work at 9. easy right?

of course not! i turn my alarm off and get up at 7:45. i speed shower, dress, feed the dog, make sure the dog does his business, pack up my bag, and leave the house at 8:10 (sorry for the lack of walk this morning, rocky!). whoo! i am so fast.

i drive about four houses down the street and a bassett hound slowly wanders out into the street in front of me. she stops and looks at me and wags her tail. well, so much for only being 10 minutes late. 20 minutes later, i’d coaxed lucy over to me, called her vet from the rabies tag, carried her to her front door, and yay! someone was home to let her in.

i was only 27 minutes late to work. i have a lot of basset hound hair on me though. sigh.

ps – also my glasses broke this morning when i tried to put them on.

i got a new pair of pjs from victoria’s secret and there is a tag attached that says -

who the heck would iron their pajamas?? a crazy person clearly. i don’t even own an iron.

kelly had her little boy at 7pm on friday night. liam brian. i’ve only seen a pic of him with his eyes closed but he looks adorable!

saturday i had dinner at margie and jay’s and got to see little jadie again. i got lots of baby holding time and jay grilled us up some shrimp, tilapia and catfish. i meant to get home early but margie and i talked on the deck until 2. oops.

and today i got a call from sunni that she had her baby girl early this morning! update: her name is erin maya and she was born at about 2:30am sunday morning.

i got a call at 7:25am from carson and kelly… she’s in labor!! it’s been 4 hours so they might already have a healthy baby boy now. i’m keeping my fingers crossed that they name him liam. i like it the best

melissa told me this morning that alcohol can prevent food poisoning. you have to have 3 drinks for the full, um, medicinal effect. awesome. this must be why we never got sick in mexico!

the party was super fun and i’m going to post pictures tonight or tomorrow. as usual, the rock was ready to go to bed way before the party ended, but he enjoyed all the petting.

i was attacked by THREE spiders today. the bug guy came today so i guess he riled them all up. i must attract spiders. there are a TON in and around my house. and none of the neighbors i’ve asked have this problem.

i had to call dell customer service today and they sent me a follow up email. it started “Dear TERRY CRISTALOU”. ha.

michelle wants to buy this for her office. i think it’s awesome but i’m a little worried that i might be the only person she can aim it at from her desk.
