i sent some funny/bad/scary personal ads to marc yesterday and he used them to provide some examples of what not to do when online dating in this very funny blog entry.

i went to jackie’s for dinner last night and used their phone line to get my tivo ready to go. i was so excited to get it all hooked up when i got home and then i realized i’d forgotten to grab the remote! luckily they’re coming down this way later today and i’m going to try to meet up with them. i’ve been so sad since my replaytv broke. i need my dvr fix! i want to watch what i want, when i want! now!

ps- after i posted this i realized that i missed celebrating the 6 year anniversary of my divorce yesterday! since i forgot the divorce celebration, does that mean i could toast today to what would have been my 10th wedding anniversary? the lengths i’ll go to in order to justify a margarita

david blaine is such a freak. i think this guy sums is up well. and really i don’t care about his pointless, weird stunts but it’s somehow fascinating at the same time. you should really check out his journal. he’s so high school angst! and his next project – living in the jungle – is almost as insane as the fake one these people have invented.

in case you haven’t gotten the news yet, i sprained my ankle on saturday morning while walking calla. i knew exercise was evil. we were doing a little run down a gravel path and the gravel turned more rock-like at the bottom of the hill and i stepped on a rock and it moved. argh.

amazingly it had stopped hurting by the time calla and i got back to the house. so i figured it was fine and went to albertson’s to get some cleaning supplies, washed my car (inside and out ) and then started doing some yardwork. after about 30 minutes of weeding, etc, it started to hurt. and after about two hours i couldn’t put any weight on it.

so jenn and mel came to my rescue. and jenn took me to a minor emergency place (thank you!!!) and waited for 2 hours while the dr prounounced all three bands of my outer ankle ligament sprained and prescribed crutches til monday and then a boot thing for 2-4 weeks.

i suck at crutches. a group of us went to see mr sinus showgirls on saturday night and i almost fell about 5 times. i did get to ride the secret elevator though!

i’m hoping to have this boot off by next week. until then, you can just call me bootsy. or clumsy.

starting around may 1st, it seems like every ad on tv and every store/catalog email that i get is about mother’s day. this makes me think of my mom and how much i miss her about 80 times a day instead of the usual 1-10 and as a result i am usually seconds away from crying during most of may.

last night i was flipping radio stations while waiting for the light to change on the congress avenue bridge and heard one word of long ride home. that was enough to start my eyes watering and if i had any sense i would have gone on to the next station. but no. i had to listen to the whole song. so i ended up crying from congress to manchaca and lamar. i probably would have just continued crying the entire way from congress at riverside to congress at st elmo but i had to stop at walgreens to pick up a prescription. i called jenn when i got out of walgreens and said ‘damn that patty griffin!’ and she knew just what had happened. she kindly picked me up and took me to big lots and to dinner and cheered me up. thank you jenn!

i don’t know why i’ve been so bad about keeping up with my pictures and blog. oh, wait! it’s because i’ve been working so hard that i haven’t had time to post anything! um, not that i usually do that during working hours or anything
